Do you do anything other than playing music?

As a matter of fact yes we do. Axis Ministries is a Creative Arts Ministry. Here at the beginning I am focusing on Film/Video Production as that is my passion and God given purpose, and as music isn't but is an important part of film/video projects need muscians to get involved as well. But as people enter the fold that have other creative desires and passions I wish to incorporate those other creative arts.

How technically skilled would a person need to be realistically?

Actually all we ask is a person have the passion and desire. Another aspect of Axis Ministries is we desire to give people the chance to learn. Eventually we want to offer courses and workshops for first timers as well as for people to expand their knowledge and abilities. The workshops/course would range from life purpose, personal development, video editing, lighting, drama, music, etc.

How would this be different from a home church worship team?

The difference would be the weekly commitment isn't their for every sunday. You can just be part of the ministry to jam with other musicians, or you can participate in writing/performing music for video projects, praise & worship in CORE Groups, and Outreach Events. There is a vast variety of opportunities with Axis beyond a Worship Team.

Is this like a church where you play for the same people all the time or do you go around to different places kind of like a band?

No, Axis Ministries is not a church. We do not plan to have Sunday services in the near future nor plan to ever have services, but possibly will have social & prayer gatherings on the weekends for those that don't have a home church and want to call Axis their home ministry. However we do desire to have a small group program, which we call CORE Groups (Connecting with others, Opportunity for growth, Relevant teaching, Effective discipleship). I am looking to start the first one in the month of April.

In addition to CORE Groups Axis Minitries plans to have periodic events, with the goal to having one event per month. These will be outreach events to the local community, each time they will look different, ranging from picnics in the park to full on stage productions with drama & music, and whenever a film production is completed premiere events that are open to the public and used as outreach as well. Open to any ideas for outreach opportunities and to showcase what we do and all the gifts and talents of everyone involved.

Like how big is this ministry? (10 people, 1000 people?)

At the moment Axis Ministries is in its infancy, so there are only two of us currently involved and a few others in my life that are interested in supporting me in this endeavour. I am hoping that before to long to increase this to at least ten if not more in the near future.

What are CORE Groups?

CORE Groups are our small group program. CORE stands for Connecting with others, Opportunity for Growth, Relevant teaching, Effective disipleship.

What happens in CORE Groups?

Anything can happen at a CORE Group! It could be a time of fellowship as in playing games, watching movies, socializing. It can also be a time of sharing your gifts and talents, or a time of teaching. It all depends on where the spirit leads us.

What kind of music do you play?

Axis Ministries is open to all kinds of music. God gave us the ability to create music, so all music can be used for His purposes.
